Is filming or photography permit mandatory in the UAE?

As much as we’d like to get cracking with commercial filming or photography in public or private areas of the UAE straight away, there are a few administrative hoops to jump through first. You’ll need to apply for official permits before you can commence with your project. Failing to get the permits could result in heavy penalties, and disrupt your filming and the local community.

UAE is made up of 7 states; Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Ajman and Umm Al Quwain. Each state has its own administrative authority, and the amount of paperwork and coordination hassle may seem daunting, but FilmPermit helps you coordinate with all relevant authorities in the most efficient way.
